6DCT450, MPS6 - 6-speed DCT gearbox, in which gear shifting is performed using hydraulics and solenoid valves controlled by the control unit. Therefore, it often suffers from numerous failures caused by the following reactions: metal particles suspended in the hot ATF fluid clog the valves and solenoids in the valve body, deposit on the friction surfaces and promote aluminum wear through vibration and clogging of the valves, especially during the wear of the friction clutches, which leads to a chain reaction of metal wear and further contamination of the oil. For this reason, the 6DCT450 has a large external filter, which Getrag engineers are advised to replace frequently.

6DCT450 / MPS6

6DCT470, SPS6 - modification of the 6DCT450 gearbox with a slightly higher torque of 470 Nm. The differences between 6DCT470 and 6DCT450 result from the different internal position of the shafts, but they are structurally very similar. It is installed in Mistubishi Galant Fortis, Lancer and Outlander.
