6L80E - The 6-speed "Heavy-Duty" transmission was introduced in 2005 and is fitted to rear-wheel drive/all-wheel drive and longitudinal drive vehicles.

6L80E

6L90E - A more powerful version of the 6L80 truck transmission, it features an improved input gear set with two additional teeth (for a total of six) and an improved output gear set with wider teeth than the 6L80. The 6L90 is available in two variants – with and without an additional disc in each clutch. The 6L90 and 6L80 transmissions differ in their housing – the 6L90 is 35 mm longer and has additional mounting hardware between the gearbox and the reduction gear, providing improved noise and vibration resistance. These two automatic transmissions share most of their components.
